Our Vision

  • Since 1957, we have been a vibrant faith community in San Jose with a rich history of ministry to our local area and across the world.

  • Our mission is to share Jesus’ gospel to bring wholeness, hope, and joy to the neighborhood and beyond.

  • Our vision is to become the church of the neighborhood where all belong, and lives are changed by the power of Jesus.

What We Believe

  • The Old and New Testament are verbally inspired by God, the only written revelation from God to man. Therefore the Bible is God’s Word, and it is trustworthy and authoritative as a rule of faith and conduct for mankind.

  • God is multi-dimensional and eternally self-existent. God is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. He is the creator of the heavens and the earth. While God is one, He has revealed Himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (the Holy Trinity).

  • Jesus Christ is the second person of the Trinity, the eternal Son of God. The scripture declares His virgin birth; His sinless life; His miracles; His substitutionary death on the cross; His bodily resurrection from the dead; His exaltation to the right hand of God.

  • The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son of God and is the Third Person of the Trinity. He provides the Christian with the power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily. The nine fruits of the Spirit are the byproduct of a Spirit-filled life and evidence of spiritual maturity. The nine gifts of the Spirit are different manifestations of the Spirit to build up the body. We are instructed to diligently seek the gifts, but they must be exercised in an orderly way in the context of truth and love.

  • Man was created in the image of God. However, by a voluntary act of will, Adam and Eve disobeyed God. That first sin had several repercussions. Man was removed from the Garden of Eden, a curse was pronounced, the process of physical death began, and man died spiritually. Sin separated mankind from God and left man in a fallen or sinful condition.

  • The only means of salvation is Jesus Christ. He died on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins. He offers each of us a pardon for our sins and wants us to become children of God. When we put our faith in Christ our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. We are given eternal life. We are reconciled to our Creator, and our sins are forgiven.

  • The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ Great Commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. We who follow Christ are invited to join Him in the Mission of sharing this Good News with others.

  • There will be a final judgment in which the dead will be resurrected and judged according to their works. Those whose names are written in the Book of Life will be resurrected and stand at the judgment seat of Christ to be rewarded for their good deeds.

    (Matthew 25:31-46; Romans 2:1-9; Revelation 20:11-15; 1 Corinthians 4:5) 

  • God created the first marriage as a sacred covenant relationship between one man and one woman for the purposes of procreation, companionship, and dominion over creation, in keeping with the covenant relationship God himself established with his own creation

    (Genesis 2:15-24; Ephesians 5:31-32).
